“Jiu-Jitsu literally saved my life. Without it, I am confident I wouldn’t be here today!” - Randy
Randy began his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey over 20 years ago, when he was first exposed to the art during his time in the United States Army. After leaving the military, Randy found master Caique, and knew Jiu-Jitsu had to be part of his life. Soon after starting, life events caused Randy to stop training for a few years , such as school commitments and medical issues. He reached a point where he needed to do something to change his life, or it likely wouldn’t last much longer. After a 5 year hiatus, Randy returned to Caique Jiu-Jitsu and trained consistently five to six days a week from that day forward. Between jiu-jitsu and healthy lifestyle choices, Randy was able to lose nearly 200 pounds, regain his self-confidence, and eventually earned his black belt from Master Caique.
Due to life circumstance, Randy relocated his family from California to Utah in 2020, and has been teaching jiu-jitsu locally. He found that he enjoyed sharing his passion for jiu-jitsu so much, that he has decided to open a Caique Jiu-Jitsu affiliate here in hopes of helping people achieve their own life goals. Randy believes jiu-jitsu literally saved his life, and hopes that through it, he can help others.
